Kim Clijsters is Belgian and was born June 8th, 1983.Her father is Leo "Lei" Clijsters, a former Belgian soccer star, her mother Els is also a former athlete, and her 14 year old sister Elke is an excellent junior tennis player. Kim has won several Junior titles, including 2 Slams in Doubles. She has also won at least 2 singles and 3 doubles titles at the ITF Challenger/Satellite level. Her crowning achievements thus far have been winning the WTA Tier III Seat Open in Luxembourg and Winning the Tier IVb ANZ International in Australia . Kim must have a very happy life, with her still attending school while achieving this success, and having no tennis expectations forced on her by parents, as is common with many prodigies.
